The first week of school is also the week of our first football game – busy week!
Schedule for the week of Aug 24 – 28:
Mon, Aug 24: First Day of School; no after school band rehearsal
Tues, Aug 25: Full Band rehearsal 4:30 – 6:30 pm
Wed, Aug 26: Full Band rehearsal 4:30 – 6:30 pm
GREEN HEALTH FORMS SHOULD BE TURNED IN PRIOR TO RIDING THE BUS TO OR PERFORMING AT A FOOTBALL GAME. If you did not turn one in (with parent/guardian signature) during registration night, put it in the BBPO slot in the band hall. Ms. Meng has blank forms if you need one. If you are not sure if one was turned in for your student or not, send me a note or ask Ms. Meng.
Thurs, Aug 27: 1st Football Game – Bellaire (visitor) vs. Alief Taylor at Alief Taylor, 7:00 pm
* Students will not have time to go anywhere to eat after school before the game, so the BBPO will provide a Chick-Fil-A sandwich, chips and water. If the student wants something else/more, they should bring it to school that day.
* Uniform for 1st game: Student should bring their uniform to school to that day. For the first game, the uniform will be provided by the students: plain, white crew neck T-shirt, khaki shorts (length compliant with school dress code), white ankle socks, tennis shoes
* 3:30: Load truck, change clothes (if needed), grab food
* 4:15: meet in multi-purpose room for inspection
* 5:00: Load busses and leave
* 6:15: arrive at stadium and unload
* 7:00: Game
* 9:30 or 10:00 – ish: arrive back at band hall
Fri, Aug 28: no after school band rehearsal
Schedule for the week of Aug 31 – Sep 4:
Mon, Aug 31: Full Band rehearsal 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Tues, Sep 1: Full Band rehearsal 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Also, first BBPO meeting of the year, 7:00 – 8:00 pm. All parents are welcome!
Wed, Sep 2: Full Band rehearsal 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm
Thurs, Sep 3: Football Game, Bellaire (visitor) vs Washington at Delmar Stadium, 7:00 pm.
* Schedule will be similar to Aug 27, but we will send out complete information next week
* Uniform will be the same as Aug 27, except will wear the band polo shirts instead of the white T-shirts if the band shirts are in by then.
Fri, Sep 4: no after school band rehearsal
Usual (but subject to change) rehearsal schedule after Sept 4 through at least UIL Marching Competition on Oct 20:
* Mondays: 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
* Tuesdays: 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm
* Wednesdays: no after school rehearsal
* Thursdays: 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm
* Fridays: no after school rehearsal
